Quakes - Earthquake Notifications App Reviews

I have not gone to the app as of yet just updated but from the recent reviews it seems to be back to the apps old self. I will go back to the app after I have written this review. I know I had sent a error report to yous about the last update to let yous know about the notifications settings not saving. Thank you for your quick response to the problem and the thanks goes back to yous for your kindness to the matter of the additional upgrades you gave for our patience. Thanks again. I have found in the last few days that the badge counter for the EarthQuake is not clearing now for some reason. I dont know if the app has a glitch or what is going on. Please Allow me to know how to fix this error. Thank you for your time and patience. July,27,2015 Thank you. Today I noticed that the Quakes app is now resetting the Badge Counts again. Thank you for letting use know about the quake last night "excuse me and earthquake has occurred"notification went off in bed then the bed started rocking! Its a great Great app sensitivity is set to 3.0

It is exciting to see whats happenning on earth.

After upgrade, when trying to set magnitude treshold, application start find my location on my iPod, and block all functionality of app. Now I cant use this App. :)

It seems that Italy does not exist anymore for this app, and no metric sys is now available. Pls add Italy to your maps.

Since lady update I have notification locked on the icon even if I open the app to read them. Also notification section is always off. If you turn it on next time you open the app you find it off.

After the update, the app wouldnt load. All that showed up was a message saying "Invalid Application Update Quakes in the App Store." I deleted the app and reinstalled but didnt work. I get the same message.

Why do all of these earthquake apps have the equivalent of page ends on the bloody map, and in the middle of the Pacific (ring of fire, duh) to boot! How hard can it possibly be to have a maps that can just go all the way around. Places like Tonga and New Zealand are basically cut out of the map and if you hit the wall looking in that region you then have to scroll across the entire map. Fix that and youll be golden.

Todays update made this app awful! The way quakes are now listed is pointless. The way it was where a map would show all quakes is a way more efficient and user friendly way to show them. Now to research all quakes near me i have to filter through a list that takes me to a new page and then to a map. Yuck.

Where is the "metric unit"?

It keeps saying that "quakes failed to register for remote push notifications, could not connect to the server" please fix it.

This was a 4star program until the latest update. Now it meets the uninstall level of performance. It has fewer setting options than before and has much less customization for your location.

Not intuitive at all to turn my phone to see the map, plus no indication on how to do that. Good thing I went back and read the description! Otherwise a good app.

Quakes used to be my favorite app and have had it both on my iPad and iPhone since it first came out and recommended it everyone I know. Version 3 is bust, however. I live on the coast of Southern California and on all list screens any quake 1.0 or higher gets listed as "California" and I have to drill down to figure out where it was in relation to my location. Even on the default map it is awkward to figure out the exact location without lots of zooming, especially on an iPhone because everything is now generically labeled by broad region labels, e.g. California, Alaska, Washington, or China, Japan, Mexico, etc. in list view it almost impossible to figure out any quake trends by specific location. In earlier versions the location of the quake was much more detailed. Also, while it is fine to set the message notification level, the main list screen shows all quakes above 1.0 magnitude so the list is really long and very unspecific as to location -- not only for California but the rest of the world. It would be nice to set the lower limit a bit higher. Last, while the map is impressive, it would be nice to have the option to set one of the lists as the default screen. If you can fix these new changes or let us access the earlier versions youll get a big five star thanks,

The map has its dividing line right through New Zealand which is on the Pacific Ring of Fire. You would think the brains behind this App would have the Ring of Fire as its Center and the dividing line down through the center of the Atlantic where there are seldom any earthquakes. Dudes, FIX IT.

I havent looked everywhere of course, so I will just address the Cobb, California area. Cobb is where Highway 175 and Bottle Rock Rd. converge. Which by the way is in the wrong location on Google Earth, & Ive been trying to get them to correct for years. In addressing road names in the wrong locations, I am talking about roads off of Bottle Rock Rd. If anybody there really cares, you will look at your map & plainly see that there are roads with the same name mostly on the west side of Bottle Rock Rd. Other than having Cobb located in the wrong location, Google Earth have those road names correct. If you care to have a correct map, youll look at their map, and correct the road names on your map..

The map needs to be able to continuously scroll both directions. I dont know why you have not done this yet. There is no logical reason for the map to dead end in the ocean. Just program the map to roll around. One side goes off and comes up on the other side. Fix it already please. The latest Alaskan quakes were too close to the edge. I want to view the pins Im looking at in the center.

New version has too much info & no way to filter. I live in California where we have dozens of tiny quakes. Most of these cant be felt, not necessary to list all of them! The new version doesnt allow me to filter out smaller quakes, also doesnt specify WHERE in Cali a quake might be (old verbs specified region which was helpful). Can I get the old version back??
